Dit is mijn bijdrage voor de EQC (European Quilt Association) tijdens het Festival of Quilts in Birmingham in augustus. Voordat ie mee mag doen moet ie natuurlijk eerst nog wel geselecteerd worden..... :) Nederland heeft de kleuren zwart-wit en max 35% blauw toebedeeld gekregen en van alle nederlandse inzendingen worden er 12 geselecteerd. Het thema is "Circle of Friends" (het quiltje moet ook werkelijk rond zijn) en aanvankelijk was ik begonnen met dat thema heel letterlijk te nemen en een kringetje van poppetjes te maken, maar dat beviel me niet. Mijn quiltje heet nu "Friends of me and Mondriaan" en het "tekstgedeelte" zijn namen van vrienden afgedrukt op textiel.Ik heb me de afgelopen week ook weer eens "gestort" op het maken van ATC's, ik blijf dat kleine werk erg aantrekkelijk vinden. De blauw-witte ATC's maakte ik voor de swap "Blue and White China", de ATC's daaronder voor een swap met als thema "Whimsical Birds"
The little round quilt is my contribution for the European Quilt Association for the exhibition "Festival of Quilts" in august in Birmingham. The theme is "Circle of Friends" and the Netherlands got the colors black-white and max 35% of blue. I started with a literally expression of a circle of little figures, but changed it into a quilt with the name "Friends of me and Mondriaan". The text are names of friends printed on textile.
I also made some ATC's for swaps, the blue-white ones for the the "Blue and White China" the little birds for the "Whimsical Birds" swap
